Letter sent to the Comite Central De La Defense Civil on October 2, 1942. The text reads: To Whom It May Concern:
My son, Mr. Anthony C. Acavedo bearer of the present letter whos picture and Signature appears on the lower left, is a native born American Citizen as evidenced by copies of his birth certificate, and has my full consent to enter any of the United States Military training Medical Service, where he wishes at heart to serve best his Country, and at the same time improve his knowledge along the Medical Science which is the profession he has chosen. I am sure and very sincerely hope that any of the civil or Military authorities that my son may become in contact with, will extend him the courtesies and necessary facilities so that he will get to his waiting post on the above mentioned military service.
